6,250 TABS SAVED FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSES
I cannot thank those of you who saved these tabs, enough. I was so very proud to be able to hand them in on January 28, 2010. I took two gallon size plastic bags filled to the top with tabs, and they were heavy! It is amazing how much all those little tabs, combined, can weigh.
My goal was to have 5,000 tabs by that Thursday, and thanks to many members, that goal was met and then some. My sincere appreciation to you all for your help.
For those of you who did not get an opportunity to participate – this is an on-going project of the DeKalb Federation and the Garden Club of Georgia. I have gotten so used to saving those tabs that I will continue to do so – how about joining me? Just maybe we could raise our goal to 800 or even 1,000. Those metal pull tabs seem rather insignificant, by themselves, but when put together they make a big difference to those who manage the Ronald McDonald Houses.
VALENTINES FOR VETERANS & NEIGHBORHOOD SENIORS/SHUT-INS
Many Thanks to those who made some really special Valentines for the Veterans, Neighborhood Seniors and Shut-Ins. They were hand-made with caring messages, on each one, and will mean so very much to those who receive them. What a meaningful and memorable Valentine’s Day it will be for these individuals.
